HAS HAL GONE MAD? (reference to 2001, the movie),

Our organizer, Mark, whom I have never met, does not return my emails.

Christine (Her Coolness) has given up her access to the site and is completely disconnected from the group.

We no longer have access to the studio at Dallas Contemporary (unless we can convince them that we can field a reasonable number of participants in order to pay the rent).

Nevertheless the web site announces forthcoming meetings at DC.

Christine thinks the website may have assumed a mind of its own.

I have wasted too much time to no avail trying to get this thing going. I am puzzled that more than 30 people have been interested enough to read my messages, but only two have been interested enough to respond to the questionnaire I posted in an attempt to find out what it would take to get a few people together for drawing or painting sessions, and only one (besides me) has RSVPed to the (fictitious) meeting for January 23, that seems to have posted itself on this website.

If anyone cares enough about drawing to feel that they might make the effort to attend drawing sessions, I invite them to communicate with me at james_newberry@hotmail.com or to phone me at 214 942-9910.

Meetup (this website) appears to be out of control. At least it is out of my control; and after two weeks wasted trying, I have been unable to reach anyone who has any control. Therefore I conclude that further efforts through Meetup would be counterproductive.

Let's do it on our own!

Farewell, Meetup!
