Our figure drawing group provides a quiet atmosphere in which to draw a live, undraped model. I schedule a variety of male and female models, of many different body types. I also keep the number of artists small so crowding isn’t a problem.
Because these drawing sessions are held in a home setting I ask that the drawing supplies be kept simple—drawing pads, pencils, pens, charcoal. If you need an easel, make sure it is small and portable.
To clarify, this is not meant to be a class atmosphere providing instruction or supplies. However there have been many times that the artists willingly share tips and pointers among themselves. Although there is no requirement of skill level (you can be a beginner, professional, or anywhere in between), you should have sufficient experience or confidence in your artistic abilities that you feel comfortable.
I hope that this provides an opportunity for you to practice and improve your drawing skills and artistic appreciation of the human form.
