Pittsburgh Figure Drawing Art Community Group
|
As an armature artist I look for ways to refine my skills. One of the ways to do this is to understand the human form. This group is open to all skill levels and ages. The focus of this group will to be to aid members in helping each other in this quest of self improvement. All artists can understand how difficult it can be to find models that are understanding. In this spirit all members will be required at some point to be the model, clothed. If one is willing to nude there privacy and safety will be paramount. No mater what the state of the modle these events will not be open to gauckers. So, if interested i will have a couple meetings for input where we sit around and brain storm locations, giuldlines, and dates/times. *NOTE*

"always down to tighten up my skills as an artist. drawing figures, especially nudes are one of the hardest things for me. so i am very excited to attend a meetup for this group."
-
Annie made me do it. It was either this, or she was going to eat my sketchbook.
-
Model Lauren Toohey
-
"Can I eat your sketchbook next time, Chuck E Cheese?"
-
"I've been working as both a professional photographer and model for over 20 years, so I'm very familiar with how to work with a model and be one. "
-
"True, I was joking, by the way. I was at the last Dr. Sketchy, where you talked her into wearing a devil costume. I was also at the other one that was at Zombo gallery; where you talked her into wearing a space suit. Based on the theme this time, I'd expect her to be either a pirate or serving wench. If you can talk her into wearing a school girl uniform with loose socks..."
-
"Charles, I am the meet up on the 14th! This is the official Dr. Sketchy, we like to keep up with art monkeys all over the burgh. So we join most of the groups to help keep them aware of what we are doing and personally invite etc... Thanks for your help. Are you on our press release list? zap me an email at joe@toonseum.com and I can send you all the info on the Sketchy on the 14th with Dan Piraro. Its gonna be a blast. Just coming to see what new costume I can talk Ashley into is worth it!"
-
"Welcome You should come to the meetup on Mar. 14th. It would be perfect for you!"

"Dr. Sketchy's Anti-Art School Pittsburgh. Burlesque sketch. Beautifully bizarre. We welcome you all."

Henna from drink and draw night... later in the night, after all the drinking and drawing and comedy (Don't ask...) It's not exactly figure drawing, but I'm still proud of it.
